Two doctors walk into a room.

It sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it’s actually the prelude to our very first MFC in-person roundtable. An addendum to our second episode this season entitled, My First Inspiration, Faith and Maggie’s conversation with artist-doctor Mike Natter and musician-doctor Fred Bertino continues our previous discussion about the relationship between art and medicine and how one affects the other.

Mike is well-known on Instagram for his med school inspired art (Buzzfeed even wrote an article about it) and Fred, an accomplished pianist and composer, has written pieces with medical titles and scientific concepts. In this lively, intimate exchange, they share with Faith and Maggie how their art and artistic perspectives influence and energize their work in medicine, and why sometimes you have to go with the flow.
